THE HUB _ accompanying the exhibition program, the conference “What does art? About the interplay of art and society” wants to provide an open space for reflection, discussion, and evaluation for artists, curators, art producers, cultural activists and theorists. We will make use of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HAWK) as our main spot and will provide a fine selection of additional meeting spaces throughout the city’s center.

JANUARY 26 _ The timeline of the conference is January 26, from 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm, we will meet at the HAWK for the “1000 Watts Talks”. The “1000 Watts Talks” are thought to look the way we refer to metaphors of light in art, design and architecture on the background of different cultures and beliefs. We will have a series of statements that mix professional and personal approaches from artists, curators and theorists.
